CAWDOR QUARRY

Green infrastructure and landscape design for the development of Cawdor Quarry and input to the design and access statement. The concept for the open space was to provide a linear park, based around the existing contours of the site. There was a link from the SSSI via an informal path that traversed the circus roundabout via traffic calmed crossing points. An informal seating and shrub area was created within the middle of the roundabout and all year round planting for colour and interest. A Local Area of Play (LAP) set within an oval path acting like a village green was created. The park also contained trim trail stations that started at the village green and ran along the length of the open space. Informal groups of tree planting straddled the path with areas of wildflower and blub planting along the length.
